Faculty Members
- Dr. Soumen Das (Chairman, SMST) - Giving a prior importance to the biomedical sensing research, an interdisciplinary R&D work at SMST has been initiated to promote MEMS and Biosensor activity that encompasses design, fabrication and engineering of biomedical & microfluidic devices for its electro-physiological characterization and development of miniature flexible transducers for healthcare applications.
- Dr. Koel Chaudhury - Her team is working towards non-invasive/minimally invasive discovery of disease biomarker(s) for the development of next generation diagnostics. Advanced proteomics and metabolomics approach are being used for this purpose. The emphasis is primarily in the areas of women’s health and respiratory health.
- Dr. Mahitosh Mandal – Dr. Mandal along with a team of oncologist, physicist and engineers are trying to determine the changes of molecular, bio-physical and bio-electrical properties in cancer during the transformation from benign to malignant form as well as acquiring chemo resistance.
- Dr. Manjunatha Mahadevappa - To develop advanced medical instrumentation and technologies to study the cortical signals at the whole brain - with the goal of translating the work into practical research and clinical use in stroke, incomplete spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, and ALS.
- Dr. Sangeeta Das Bhattacharya - Research Areas: Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, Public health and epidemiology, Health care delivery for children with chronic medical conditions, Telemedicine and electronic health record, Teaching methods for Evidence Based Medicine and Evidence Based Health Policy, College Mental Health
